OCNZ Newsletter: November 2019

President’s Message
This month we start the newsletter with a message from our President Margaret Lomas.

Margaret writes: “I would like to advise members who have been affected by recent club closures that they can still stay in touch by becoming Associate Members of the OCNZ. For an annual fee of $20 an Associate will receive the Yearbook and newsletters. Payments to be made to the Secretary, OCNZ. Please pass this information on to anyone who may be interested.”

Spring Show Season
We are coming to the end of the Spring Show season I hope you have had enjoyable and successful shows. Some of the shows I’ve recently attended have been very colourful with wonderful displays of orchids. The shows were well supported by the public with the traders reporting very good sales. Hopefully you have picked up some new club members along the way, engaging with the public at shows is a great way to recruit new members.

Orchids 2020
Orchids 2020 (Yearbook) will feature the 2019 National Show but we would still love contributions of articles, society news, advertisements and vales for well-known orchid identities. In the near future we will be asking societies for their contact details and 2020 show dates for inclusion in the yearbook.
